A True Team Effort
We were delighted to mark our 15th anniversary with our biggest-ever charity golf day! Held at the prestigious Foxhills Club and Resort on their renowned Longcross course, the day was held to raise money for two of our chosen charities, Turning Tides and Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.
“These two charities do so much amazing work in our industry and for the Sussex community, it was great to host our charity golf day to support their causes. Whilst the golf might have been a mixed bag, the support for the cause was unrelenting and a big thank you to everyone who supported us.”
Lewis Yorke-Johnson, Co-Founder
Participants enjoyed a hearty breakfast before the competition began, including competitions on the 4th and 16th, and the ‘Beat the Pro’ challenge! We wrapped up the event with a BBQ and drinks before a silent auction to boost charity contributions.
Hot on the heels of this event, we’ve started taking reservations for our 2024 Golf Day which promises to be even bigger and better! Contact joy.huntley@theshoregroup.co.uk for full details.

From Our Founders:
"It’s been another packed quarter of activity across the Group as we drive our CSR strategy forward. Our newsletter gives a quick snapshot of our recent progress as we work towards our ambitious 2030 goals.
As the Group evolves and expands into new areas, we evolve our CSR strategy to keep pace. It’s exciting to see how the new services add to our delivery.
For example, our Civils business, formed in 2022 is utilising our established Ethical Resourcing programme to help disadvantaged communities start their careers in construction and add to the legacy that every project leaves behind."
Boosting Worker Compliance
Worker compliance and safety is our top priority and our latest Portal upgrade adds to the protections we have in place for clients and operatives. The latest enhancements add full compliance visibility to the cost and labour ordering functionality. This gives clients a complete view of worker compliance including the original documentation used during verification.
Original documentation verification is an essential step for identification, right to work and qualifications checks, playing a part in reducing risks including modern slavery and illegal workers. The Portal is included as standard as part of our recruitment and support services and there is no client resource required to implement the system.
Ethical Resourcing Partnership In Action
We were delighted to shout about Jayden’s inspiring journey this quarter. His drive and dedication have seen him turn a work experience placement with Osborne Construction into a permanent Assistant Site Manager role. Jayden first approached The Shore Group, interested in construction but not having a clear view of his route into his preferred career.
Our team worked with Jayden, to pin down a starting point, partnering with Osborne to create the ideal opportunity for Jayden. This gave Jayden exposure to multiple different roles and the help he needed to find the best fit for him.
It’s a great example of our Ethical Resourcing model in action. We partner with our clients at a project level to understand the project goals including any s106 obligations.
“We’ve known how construction can be a gateway career, helping people kickstart their working lives. Our close relationships span numerous under-represented groups including NEETs, the homeless, disabled and ethnic minorities to help make this a reality.”
We build our resourcing strategy tailored for the client to ensure that we deliver those goals by working closely with local authorities, community groups and charities.
Taster Day
The Shore Group were delighted to join the Osborne Construction Taster Day where Sarah Chatfield, Osborne's Sustainable Procurement Officer, gave students interested in pursuing careers in construction an insight into the careers available.
In addition to a site tour and Q&A, Dan Branch, Divisional Manager at The Shore Group shared his story and essential tips for success for the candidates to help them navigate their next steps in the industry.
Managing The RISQS
We're delighted that our Rail Division recently passed our RISQS audit with flying colours, hot on the heels of our ISO re-certification! Accreditations play an essential role in our risk management processes, helping to keep workers, clients and communities safe and working effectively. The Group continues to invest in its accreditations to enhance the value and protections for the whole community.
Celebrating Success
Congratulations to Hannah Bath in our Payroll team for passing her apprenticeship with a distinction! Apprentices play a key role in our business success and we’ve supported these employment schemes for many years now.
Not only do apprentices contribute a huge amount during qualification, but we’ve seen many progress to become managers and mentors within the Group to the next generation!
