WHAT WE DO

RETAIL SUPPORT HQ

Running large-scale retail operations requires more than people and project management. It requires a physical base capable of handling the storage, logistics, scheduling and support that keeps programmes moving. Our Retail Support HQ in Nottingham is a purpose-built operational centre that sits at the heart of everything we deliver for retail clients across the UK.

24x7 COLLEAGUE AND CLIENT SUPPORT

Retail does not run to a nine-to-five schedule, and neither do we. Our support centre operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing real-time scheduling and administration support for field teams working across the country at all hours.

For clients, it means there is always someone available to handle a programme query, a scheduling change or an on-site issue without waiting until the next morning. For colleagues working overnight refits, early morning resets or weekend conversion programmes, it means direct access to coordination and support throughout the shift, not just at the start of it.

That continuity matters on programmes where timing is tight and any disruption to the schedule has a knock-on effect across multiple locations. The support centre is the connective tissue that keeps large-scale retail programmes running smoothly.

STORAGE AND CONSOLIDATION

The facility provides secure warehousing and consolidation services for retail programmes of all sizes. Equipment, fixtures, point of sale materials, marketing collateral and consumables are received, checked, stored and managed on behalf of clients, removing the complexity of managing multiple supplier deliveries directly to store.

Consolidating inbound goods through a single facility before onward dispatch reduces the number of deliveries arriving at individual stores, simplifies site logistics and gives the project team a clear picture of what is available, what is in transit and what is outstanding at any point in the programme.

For large-format store conversions, refits and rollout programmes where equipment arrives from multiple suppliers on varying lead times, consolidation through Nottingham provides a controlled staging point that keeps the overall programme on track regardless of supplier variability.

LOGISTICS AND DISPATCH

Goods managed through the facility are dispatched to stores and sites on a scheduled basis, coordinated around programme timelines, trading hours and site access requirements. Our logistics operation handles route planning, delivery scheduling and load management, ensuring the right equipment arrives at the right location at the right time.

For overnight and out-of-hours programmes, the 24x7 operation means dispatch can be timed to support teams working through the night, with equipment arriving when it is needed rather than sitting in a yard waiting for access. That precision reduces on-site downtime and keeps programme timelines intact.

GNFR CONSUMABLES: PICK, PACK AND DISPATCH

We manage the pick, pack and dispatch of goods not for resale on behalf of retail clients, covering the consumables and operational supplies that stores require as part of new store openings, conversions, refits and ongoing operations.

Working from client-approved product lists, our team picks and packs bespoke store kits containing the materials each location needs, then dispatches them on a schedule aligned to the programme. For new store openings and conversions, this means stores receive everything they need to begin trading in a single coordinated delivery rather than managing multiple supplier relationships at the point of opening.

The service removes a significant administrative burden from client property and operations teams, who would otherwise need to coordinate GNFR supply directly with individual vendors for each location. We manage it end to end, from goods receipt through to confirmed delivery at store.

TRAINING FACILITIES

The Nottingham facility includes dedicated training space used to brief, induct and upskill the field teams operating on client programmes across the UK. Before a major programme goes live, teams are brought through the facility for structured briefings that cover client standards, store-specific requirements, SHEQ expectations and programme logistics.

For clients with specific ways of working, brand standards or compliance requirements, the training facility provides a controlled environment to embed those expectations before teams reach the shop floor. It is considerably more effective than a briefing document sent by email, and the results on site are measurably better for it.

The space is also available to support client-side training requirements where agreed as part of a programme partnership.

MEETING AND COLLABORATION HUB

The facility provides a professional meeting environment for client programme reviews, mobilisation planning sessions and operational briefings. For clients whose retail operations teams are based in the Midlands or the North, Nottingham provides a practical and well-located base for face-to-face programme management without the need to travel to London or the South Coast.

It is a working hub rather than a corporate showpiece. Clients come here to plan programmes, review performance, walk through logistics and meet the teams who will be delivering on their behalf. Having that conversation in the building where the operation runs gives it a grounding that a meeting room elsewhere cannot replicate.
